cannock chase

We’re excited to introduce our brand-new Wilderness Walk Leader, Lee Quinn, who will be guiding his first Walk Talk Action adventure on Friday 3rd October 2025…

This walk takes us through the beautiful landscape of Cannock Chase, starting from the Glacial Boulder Car Park in Brocton (WS15 2UA).

It’s a fantastic chance to stretch your legs, connect with nature, and enjoy the company of others while exploring one of Staffordshire’s most scenic spots.

What to expect

We’ll be setting off promptly at 9:30am and wrapping up around midday. The route is classed as moderate, so you’ll need a good level of fitness and mobility to get the most from the experience.

Expect muddy patches, undulating terrain, and even a final climb to finish. But don’t worry, there’s also plenty of opportunities to pause, chat, and take in the views.

This walk is designed to be relaxing and enjoyable. However, please note, it isn’t suitable for complete beginners.

For safety reasons, we can’t accommodate anyone with injuries or illnesses, and dogs won’t be able to join us this time.

What to bring

Lee has put together some practical tips so you’ll be ready whatever the weather:

  • Sturdy footwear (walking boots or at least suitable walking shoes)
  • Layered clothing – quick-drying trousers/leggings, base layer, fleece, waterproof coat
  • Hat and gloves or sunglasses (depending on the weather!)
  • Your personal medication (e.g. asthma inhaler)
  • Water (around 1 litre) to keep hydrated
  • Flask of tea/coffee and some snacks to keep your energy up
  • Binoculars, if you enjoy wildlife spotting – Cannock Chase is home to deer and plenty of birdlife
  • Fully charged phone and emergency contact details
  • A small backpack to carry everything comfortably

A few practical notes

There are no toilets at the car park, but you’ll find facilities nearby at Milford Common.

If you use location apps, the what3words address for the start point is: dampen.length.resorts.

Come and join us

This is a brilliant opportunity to meet Lee and enjoy a sociable morning outdoors. We’d love for you to come and experience the mental and physical lift that comes from walking in nature.
