mental health awards

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Walk Talk Action has recently received two prestigious accolades in recognition of the work we do to support people experiencing mental health challenges…

A lovely surprise

At the GHP Mental Health Awards 2025, WTA was named Most Inclusive Community Mental Health Support Organisation 2025 – Central England.

The award reflects the importance of inclusion and community-based mental health support — values that sit at the heart of everything we do.

On top of that, we’re thrilled to have been named Mental Health Support NPO of the Year at the Central England Prestige Awards. This is an honour that came about following our collaboration with 6 Towns Radio.

WTA Director, Teri, explains:

“The GHP award came as a complete surprise. I received a random phone call to say we’d been nominated anonymously – which means someone out there thought of us and took the time to put our name forward without telling us. That in itself felt like a win.”

“As for the Prestige Award, it came off the back of our work with 6 Towns Radio. After doing the Appetite show, we’d gone to a meeting with presenter, Dan Townley, to see about setting up a regular community slot. He mentioned the awards and handed us a nomination form to explain who we are and what we do. Next thing I know, we’ve won! It was such a lovely surprise.”

Although the team are unable to attend the official Prestige awards evening in Birmingham on 26th May, the sense of achievement is no less special.

A shared achievement

These awards are a testament to the hard work, compassion, and dedication that runs through everything WTA does. From our volunteers and peer supporters to the individuals we support, and the wider community who champion our work.

Reflecting on what the wins mean to the organisation, Teri added:

“It’s incredibly humbling to be recognised in this way. We’ve always focused on creating genuine, inclusive support for people who are often overlooked or unheard when it comes to mental health. These awards aren’t just for the team – they’re for every person who’s walked with us, talked with us, and helped us build a stronger, kinder community.”

Thank you to everyone who supports Walk Talk Action. These awards are a shared achievement, and we’re excited to keep pushing forward, together.
