Join us for a walk

Most of our nature walks take place at Longton Park but we do go for walks at several other venues across Stoke-on-Trent.

Our walks aim to get people outside and enjoy the great outdoors. Going for a walk – long or short – can help prevent weight gain and fatigue and lessens the risk of chronic disease. Walking also reduces stress and improves mental wellbeing.

Our walk timetable for 2024

Our walk timetable for 2024

All our nature walks take place on Tuesdays between 1:00pm and 2:00pm at Longton Park.

Meet at the bottom entrance: Longton Park, Trentham Road, Dresden, Stoke-on-Trent ST3 4AZ. We wait 5 mins and then start the walk. If you’re late, head to the café in the centre of the park and you’ll see us there.

Everyone is welcome.

We will arrange walks at several other locations throughout the year. Please keep an eye on this page for more details.

Nature walks help to reduce stress and anxiety levels. Studies have shown that spending time around nature can help to lower cortisol levels (cortisol is the hormone associated with stress).

Walking and being surrounded nature is thought to have a restorative effect on the brain, which can lead to improved mood. This, in turn helps reduce symptoms of depression.

Furthermore, being among nature helps boost creativity and problem-solving skills. Studies have shown that exposure to natural environments can improve cognitive function.
