Working with Walk Talk Action

Working with Walk Talk Action

In 2025, Walk Talk Action welcomed 12 students on placement, providing them with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mental health support and community engagement.

These placements not only helped students understand the realities of mental health struggles but also encouraged personal growth by stepping into new environments and developing practical skills to support others.

During their time with us, students learned to:

“During my placement, I observed a Walk Talk Action session and was struck by how openly participants shared personal experiences. I saw the importance of creating a safe, supportive environment and how goal-setting and community support can empower change. This experience has reinforced for me the value of trust, psychosocial care, and signposting patients to relevant support.”

Police consultations and drop-ins

Police consultations and drop-ins

Our local PCSOs regularly drop by the Tea & Toast sessions at St Francis Church in Meir Heath, providing a reassuring presence and fostering a strong partnership between the community and local police.

Here’s what one of them had to say about WTA…

2025 statistics

“This service is vital for the community, providing both younger and older generations with access to professional and community support. Signposting is particularly important, as a lack of guidance can contribute to crime when people feel there’s nothing to do or no one to turn to for help. It would be fantastic to see your 10-Step Programme available in every town.”
