Behind every Walk Talk Action journey are the incredible people who give their time, support and encouragement to help others take positive steps forward. Recently, we celebrated some of the amazing achievements, dedication and kindness that make our community so special…

Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the privilege of celebrating the extraordinary people who make Walk Talk Action what it is today.

From volunteers to Veterans. Community groups to 10-Step Programme participants. Every person who gives their time and support plays an important part in helping us create a place where people can take positive steps forward.

This is our way of thanking those people and the amazing contributions they continue to make.

Recognising achievement through the 10-Step Programme

A special part of these celebrations is recognising the achievements of our 10-Step Programme participants.

Those who complete the programme receive their completion certificates and portfolios. These are a reminder of their commitment and determination, as well as the progress they’ve made throughout their journey.

For many people, taking part in the 10-Step Programme represents a significant personal achievement. Stepping outside your comfort zone isn’t easy. But it builds confidence. And it helps people recognise that positive change is possible, one step at a time.

Graduates who achieve their goals are also presented with a special WTA pin badge — a symbol of their journey and the positive steps they’ve taken.

A huge thank you to our volunteers

Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. That’s why we’re so proud to recognise the many people who give their time to support WTA and our wider community.

During our annual celebration day, each group receives a certificate of appreciation. And special awards are presented to those who go above and beyond.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved. This includes our Tea & Toast team, our Wilderness Walk volunteers, our Veterans from Veteran Support Network and our Regent College volunteers.

For every helping hand, friendly conversation and act of selflessness, we salute you.

Coming together for our community

Our working party at the Retreat was a perfect example of what can be achieved when people come together.

Alongside our usual activities, volunteers helped with litter picking, grass cutting, strimming, equipment checks, mowing, emptying bins and repairing tools.

Of course, all of that helps keep the Retreat looking its best. But on a wider scale, it also creates opportunities for people to connect, build relationships and be part of something meaningful.

A huge thank you goes to our Veterans from Veteran Support Network (VSN) and our Regent College volunteers who got involved and supported the day.

The Retreat is a special place. And that is only possible because of the people who help make it happen.

Celebrating those who go above and beyond

As part of our celebrations, we were also able to recognise some individual achievements.

A special mention goes to Paul Simpson, who achieved 100% attendance on every Wilderness Walk from September to July. The weather was never a factor as he joined us come rain or shine. Well done, Paul.

We also recognised Sam Foster for his fantastic photography skills. Sam has captured countless special moments at Walk Talk Action.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to share their time, skills and enthusiasm.

Building connections

Walk Talk Action is built on partnerships and connections. Recently, we’ve been proud to represent WTA within our wider community.

We were delighted to be part of Regent College’s Celebration Day at Port Vale FC, where the positive impact of volunteering and community partnerships was recognised. The WTA Retreat was mentioned several times and we were humbled to learn just how much the young people gain from volunteering with us.

We were also honoured to attend this year’s Armed Forces Day celebrations at Queen’s Park, Longton.

A huge thank you goes to our volunteers who represented WTA on the day. These include Mandy and Stephen, and our younger volunteers Olivia, Jessie and Toby.

Every volunteer helps raise awareness of our mission and enables us to reach more people who could benefit from our support.

Thank you for being part of our journey

Walk Talk Action continues to grow because of the wonderful people who give their time and support without wishing for anything in return.

Everyone who volunteers, attends a session, supports an event, helps maintain the Retreat or simply takes time to connect with others, is part of the WTA journey.

Every conversation matters.

Every connection matters.

Every step matters.

Together, we’re making a difference.

One step at a time.
